One Hundred and Fourth Generation
14824761259695010196692504936448. Noah (Noe) Angel Gabriel-[69339],2,7,8,9,72,73 son of Lamech -[68347], was born in B.C. 2944 in Lived 950 Years and died in B.C. 1994 at age 950.
General Notes: Ordained High Priest by Methuselah at age 10
This was followed by the Ice Age
Born 2944 B.C. Lived 950 years. The Great Flood occurred 2344-2343.Followed by the Ice-Age. (See comments below by Albert F. Schmuhl)
The correct understanding of the Flood in the first 2000 years isbasic to the understanding of our own history. The flood is chronicled tohave started "In the six hundreth year of Noah's life ...the same daywere all the fountains of the great deep broke up, and the windows ofheaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and fortynights" (Gen.7:11-12) Some have assumed that the rain lasted only 40days, but the next verse says "in that selfsame day entered Noah...intothe Ark." The record continues: "And the water prevailed upon the earthan hundred and fifty days,...The fountains also of the deep and thewindows of heaven were stopped and the rain from heaven was restrained."(Gen.7:24;8:2) This means that it rained for five months!
We can safely assume "The fountains of the deep" to mean the waterin the earth and in the oceans which were released by subterranean forcescreating the tidal waves spoken of by Immanuel Velikovsky (Earth InUpheavel) which traversed continents and caused globel catastrophies.Regarding the "windows of heaven" being opened, there are many theories. Was water brought...from some other place above the earth?" asked JosephFielding Smith, "We do not know", he concluded. One plausible theory isthat water was produced from hydrogen nebulae from outer space combiningwith the oxygen of our atmosphere.
Joseph Fielding Smith explains the Ice Age theory as follows: Theanimals spoken of by Sir Henry H. Howorth were frozen at the time of theflood when the climatic conditions of the earth were changed." (Man, HisOrigin and Destiny, p 422-423) Ice is the by-product of water evaporationcaused by heavy cloud cover plus earthquake-spawned dust. Noah'sdescendants lived all in one place until after the destruction of theTower of Babel, some 150 years later, thereby allowing the formed ice tomelt.
When the flood subsided, Noah divided the world and gave Ham, Africaand Southern Arabia; Japeth, Europe to Cadiz and Asia, except for theEuphrates in the Indian Ocean; and Shem the Euphrates to the IndianOcean, including Assyria, Syria, Persia, Northern Africa and Mesopotamia.
The following information was taken from THE WELSH PEOPLE by JohnRhys and David Brynmor-Jones, A HISTORY OF WALES by John E. Lloyd andWALES by Gilbert Stone:
Scientists tell us that the Glacial period is believed to havedestroyed all forms of life in the British Isles. If they could tell usthe exact time when the Glacial period ended and the Pleistoceps periodbegan and when it ended and the Neolithic period began, it might bepossible to approximate the date of the origin of the Welsh People.
"With the opening of the Neolithic or New Stone Age, begins so faras is now known, the continuous history of man in Wales." (Lloyd)
There is evidence that the original Welsh people were a mixture ofthe Semitic race of Babylonia and the Hamitic race of Egypt. Untildriven out by the spread of the Christian religion, the Druids were thereligious leaders of the Welsh nation and, through their peculiar ritesand ceremonies, they exercised a controlling influence over the people.
"The direct ancestors of the Welsh were offering sacrifices to theirGods in Britain thousands of years before the Christian era.....they wereconquered by a broad-headed race who were thick-set but short in stature. These in turn were conquered by a round-headed people of robust build, tall and savage-looking." (Stone)
The next invaders of the British Isles were the Goidels (Scots), aceltic tribe from western Europe, who crossed the channel about 1200 B.C.Their presence in Wales was not felt until about 1000 B.C. They weretall, robust and had light hair and complexion. Their superior weaponsenabled them to conquer the Aborigines with comparative ease, and theybecame a sort of military aristocracy. The Aborigines were their serfsand drudges. In the course of time their blood was mingled with that ofthe natives.
The next invasion took place in the third or fourth century, B.C.,when the Brythons, a Belgic-Celtic race, who, like the Goidels, weretall, strong and fair, entered the British Isles and proceeded to theconquest of the Goidels and the Aborigines.
At the time of the Roman occupation, 49 A.D., all parties madecommon cause against the Romans and hence did little fighting amongthemselves. The Brythons again undertook the conquest of the Goidels andthe Aborigines about the time of the departure of the Romans.
The fortunes of war were against them and in their distress theyappealed to their Brythonic kinsman, CUNEDDA, who had been a Romanofficer on the north wall. He came with eleven of his twelve sons andhis forces conquered the Goidels and the Aborigines and united the Welshinto a separate kingdom of which he became the ruler. In Nennius' HISTRIABRITONUM it is stated that he "expelled the Scots with great slaughterfrom those countries and they never again returned." (Rhys)
"The Welsh of today are directly descended from the Brythons,Aborigines and Goidels." (Stone) Their ancestors were the Ancient Britonsand they are in fact the true Britons.
The dialect of the Brythons became the language of the Welsh peopleand it is the Welsh language of today.
The Anglo-Saxons gave them the name Welsh, meaning enemy orstranger. They resented this and adopted Cymru (compatriots) for thenational name, while the people were called Cymry.
The nation became divided into three smaller kingdoms; the northerncalled Gwynedd, the central, Powys and the southern, Dinefawr. Each hadits king, but the King of Gwynedd seems to have been the Wledig or GreatKing to whom the others were supposed to owe allegiance.
These three kingdoms were each divided into several smallerdivisions or tribes each having a tribal ruler. This Cymru Kingdomendured a few centuries with varying fortunes, being in almost constantconflict either with the Picts and Scots, the Jutes or the Anglo-Saxonswho harrassed them on every side. There were many clans, petty kingdomsand lordships, often at war with each other, and hence ill-prepared toresist foreign invaders.
It is difficult to understand how the Cymru Kingdom could survive aslong as it did under such conditions. Perhaps there was a divine purposein preserving the nation which the Welsh people believe that theirhistory has fully justified.
Between the time of the Anglo-Saxon invasion 449 A.D. and 600 A.D.,"The Welsh people cast off all traces of heathenism and of politicalsubjection, and in common with the more civilized Britons of the east, became well-organized Christian communities, ruled by powerfull monarchs, ministered to by a learned clergy, led to battle by champions whoserenown has not yet faded." (Lloyd) The Welsh people have remarkablegenealogies extending back to the beginning of the Christian era. It isknown that they carefully preserved their pedigrees in early times andthe best authorities regard them as substantially accurate for manygenerations.
From the HISTORY AND ANTIQUITIES OF THE COUNTY OF CARDIGAN we learnas follows: "The Welshman's Pedigree was his title-deed, by which heclaimed his birth-right in the country. Every one was obliged to shewhis descent through nine generations in order to be acknowledged a freenative, and by which right he claimed his portion of land in thecommunity."
"The origin of this system is buried in the depths of antiquity.Among a people where sur-names were not in use, and where the right toproperty depended on descent and attention to pedigree was indispensable, and as the prevention of forgery became consequently of the utmostimportance, it was requisite that the investigation of genealogy and itspreservation should be vested in an especial body of persons in whomconfidence could be placed. They were called 'The Order of theArwyddveirdd' or Herald-Bards whose duty it was to register Pedigrees."(Meyrick)
In these days the average person knows little about his ancestryfurther back than his grandfather, and in too many cases he cares stillless. The Welsh people were compelled to preserve their pedigrees bythat most impelling of all human motives--self-interest, and hence--wehave these wonderful Welsh genealogies which are not equalled in anyother nation, with the possible exception of China.
A facetious individual, when shown these remarkable Welsh pedigrees, remarked: "After the Glacial period was ended, the first form of lifethat appeared in the British Isles must have been a Welshman."
