This was a very learned king; could foretellthings to come; and caused much of the country to be cleared of theancient forest. He likewise built seven royal palaces(Rath Ciombaoigh,Rath Coincheada, Rath Mothuig, Rath Buirioch, Rath Luachat, Rath Croicne,and Rath Boachoill). He won four remarkable battles over his enemies: ArdInmath, at Teabtha, where Stirne, the son of Dubh, son of Fomhar, wasslain; the second battle was at Teanmhuighe, against the Fomhoraice,where Eichtghe, their leader , was slain; the third was the battle ofLoch Muighe, where Lugrot, the son of Moghfeibhis, was slain; and thefourth was the battle of Cuill Martho, where the four sons of Heber weredefeated. Irial died in the second year after this battle, having reigned10 years, and was buried at Magh Muagh. During his reign a great part ofthe country was laid open, and freed from woods.

Fiacha at length (1448 BC) fell in the battle ofBealgadain, by the hands of Eochaidh Mumho, the son of Moefeibhis, of therace of Heber Fionn. He was called Labhrainn because during his reign thestream of Tubher Labhrainn began to flow.

BIOGRAPHY: Aongus Olmucach: his son; was the 20th Monarch. He was namedfor having a breed of swine of a much larger size than any in Ireland,the words "oll" and "mucca" signifying "great swine." He was a valiantand war-like prince, and fought the following battles: the battle ofClaire, the battle of Moigen Cgiath, in Connaught; the battle of GlaiseFraochain, where Frachain Faiah was killed; and in his reign the Pictsagain refused to pay the tribute imposed on them 250 years before, byHeremon, but this Monarch went with a strong army into Alba and in thirtypitched battles overcame them and forced them to pay the requiredtribute. Aongus was at length slain by Eana, in the ba ttle of Carman,1409 BC

Rogheachach: his son; was the 22nd Monarchfor 25 years; slain 1357 BC by Sedne(Seadhna) of the Line of Ir at RathCuchain. Silver shields were made, and four-horse chariots were firstused in Ireland during his reign.

He was distinguished by the name Duach Lagrach byreason of his being so strict and hasty in the execution of justice; thathe was impatient and would not admit of a moment's delay until thecriminal was seized and tried for the offense; the word, "Lagrach," meansspeed and suddenness. He was killed by Lughaidh Laighe, son of OiliollFionn, 737 BC
